Help!! Question About The Waitlist!!
Please help me!! I just registered for Winter classes. I am #1 on the waitlist for Comm 637, and I really want into that class next quarter because it is a group-oriented class and 3 of my other friends got in it, and we were planning on taking the class together.

I have scheduled 4 other classes (20 credit hours altogether) just incase I do not get into 637, but it is my understanding from what I was told freshmen year that I need my "allowed credit hours" bumped up from "20" to "25" incase a spot opens up in 637, or else I cannot get the spot in 637 because I have already "hit my limit of 20 credit hours" per quarter.

I was told to e-mail my advisor to get this adjusted, so that the first person that drops, I will take their spot.

So my question is, do I need to get my advisor to raise my credit hour limit to "25", or is there no need to "get my hours raised", and the class will show up on my schedule?

Is this true about the waitlist?? Can someone help clarify it for me?? Thank you so much for your help!

Verizon Wireless
Has anyone ever worked for Verizon Wireless at their call center in Dublin as a customer service representative or at one of their retail stores as a customer service rep or sales rep? If so, could you please divulge your opinion on the job? I'm considering leaving my current 30k/year job for a job there because they do full school reimbursement from Day #1... and also if you know of any "catches" it would be pricelessly apperciated. :)

GO BUCKS!

READ THIS IF YOU RENT ON OSU CAMPUS.
Crossposted.

NEVER RENT FROM HOMETEAM PROPERTIES.

Background: here & here.

Seriously. If you're considering renting from them next year, DO NOT DO IT. If anything happens to go wrong or they decide to do construction on your house (and of course, you'll have no choice or input and just be expected to allow them to waltz in and do construction in your bedroom/bathroom/living room whenever they want and allow them to destroy your property without complaining and at the same time try and increase your rent by $200, um ew) - they will be complete assholes. If you've read my past entries, you know the situation at my apartment is essentially unlivable, dangerous, uncomfortable, disgusting, dirty, and violating health codes. THE CONSTRUCTION WORKERS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR SARS MASKS BECAUSE THE AIR IS SO UNHEALTHY TO BREATHE, YET WE ARE EXPECTED TO JUST DEAL WITH IT AND LIVE THERE. HI, SAME AIR, PEOPLE.

Well, HomeTeam is threatening to take us to court, essentially saying we CAN NOT move out and furthermore they want to increase our rent.

Here is the law regarding landlords:
1. Obey all health and safety laws and regulations.
2. Make all repairs needed to maintain the property in good condition.
3. Keep all common areas safe, clean and in good repair.
4. Maintain in good working order all electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning fixtures and applications which the landlord provides or is required to provide.

5. Provide and maintain garbage cans and provide for trash removal where there are four or more units in the building.
6. Supply running water and enough hot water and heat at all times, unless there are separate heat or hot water units for each dwelling unit and the utility fees for the heat and hot water are paid directly by the tenant to a public utility company.
7. Give at least 24 hours notice to a tenant before trying to enter their apartment and enter only at reasonable times unless there is an emergency.
8. Not abuse the right to enter.

Obviously, I've bolded the areas that they have violated MULTIPLE times.

Avoid this company at all costs, for your own sanity, time, and money.

OSU Students, stop your tuition from funding discrimination!
Scroll to the end of this to take immediate action as a student or a student organization!

There has been a change made in The Ohio State University’s nondiscrimination policy. The former policy required a "Statement of nondiscrimination prohibiting discrimination on the basis of age, color, disability, gender identity or expression, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or veteran status." The new policy, stating "A student organization formed to foster or affirm the sincerely held religious beliefs of its members may adopt a nondiscrimination statement that is consistent with those beliefs," is unacceptable, allowing university-funded organizations to discriminate with university approval.

As leaders of student organizations and members of the tuition-paying student body we respectfully request the status of organizations choosing to discriminate according to the new policy be held as Unregistered Student Organizations. As Unregistered Student Organizations these groups would still receive university acknowledgement. It is however, intolerable to use student and taxpayer funds to finance discrimination.

If you are a student at OSU, sign the petition against this new policy at: www.ipetitions.com/campaigns/osu_policy

If you are a member of a student organizaton at OSU, email osu_policy@hotmail.com to sign on to a letter taking the same stance as the petition to be sent to President Holbrook and Bill Hall in the name of student organizations.
